Hatha (Sivananda)

Beginner/Intermediate - 90 minutes

Designed specifically for beginners and intermediate students, this holistic class focuses on the fundamentals of a balanced physical practice, mindful breathing, and deep relaxation to restore balance between the body and mind.

Moving at a thoughtful, meditative pace, the session guides you through a time-tested sequence. You will begin with centering breathwork (Pranayama) to calm the nervous system, move into gentle Sun Salutations to warm up the spine, and practice a modified selection of foundational yoga postures (Asanas) designed to build gentle strength and flexibility. Every movement is paired with awareness, encouraging you to listen to your body without judgment.

The practice concludes with a deep, guided final relaxation (Savasana) to integrate the physical benefits of the class, leaving you feeling grounded, revitalized, and deeply at peace. No prior yoga experience or flexibility required—just an open mind.

Intermediate/Advanced - 90 minutes

Deepen your practice and develop your inner awareness with this traditional intermediate/advanced Sivananda class. Designed for those who have already mastered the basics of the Sivananda sequence, this class offers a comprehensive, classic program that allows you to fully explore the synthesis of breath, body, and mind.

At a steady, meditative pace, this extended class offers a comprehensive practice of the 12 classic foundational postures (Asanas). You’ll explore deeper variations, longer holds, and refined alignment cues to develop your endurance, flexibility, and concentration. The class includes advanced breathing techniques (Pranayama), notably extended Anuloma Viloma (alternate nostril breathing) with breath retention, a dynamic warm-up using the Sun Salutation, and focused awareness of the chakras throughout the postures.

Combining effort and letting go, this session includes frequent short relaxation breaks between challenging poses and concludes with a deep, extended Savasana. You’ll leave the mat with a revitalized nervous system, a calm mind, and a deep sense of spiritual grounding.

Prerequisite: Prior experience with Sivananda Yoga or a consistent beginner/intermediate yoga practice is recommended.
