Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and structured style of yoga that synchronizes breathing with a progressive sequence of poses. Renowned for its athletic and meditative qualities, it is designed to develop physical strength, flexibility, and mental clarity.
Unlike classes where the sequence changes every day, Ashtanga follows a fixed sequence of poses that practitioners memorize and master over time.

The fundamental pillars
- Vinyasa (movements synchronized with the breath): Each movement and each pose are closely guided by the breath—an inhalation or an exhalation—which, when combined with each movement, creates a fluid and harmonious sequence.
- The asana series: There are six series in total, starting with the Primary Series (Yoga Chikitsa), which focuses on detoxification and body alignment. Our shala focuses on the Primary and Secondary Series.
- Tristhana (the three anchors): Ashtanga uses three tools to develop deep concentration:
- Ujjayi Breathing: a deep, audible breath originating in the throat, which generates internal heat.
- Bandhas: internal energy locks (core engagement) for stability and strength.
- Drishti: a specific focal point for the eyes, intended to calm the mind.
Why Practice Ashtanga? Meditation in motion.
Although it provides an intense physical workout, the repetitive nature of the sequence allows the mind to refocus on itself, transforming the practice into a form of moving meditation.

Whether you want to establish a disciplined daily routine, eliminate toxins, or deepen your mental focus, Ashtanga Yoga offers a clear and sustainable path to personal fulfillment.
